A labour of luvve in our Febulous family of restaurants,
was finally born after many months of rigorous
food tastings with curry suppliers in Japan. After one too many heated debates and table-banging arguments (Just kidding…),
we decided that a blend perfected in Japan by the Shimada family would not only stay true to the authenticity of a home-styled
Japanese curry tradition, it would also appease the discerning taste buds of the local Singaporean.
Just to give you an idea of of what goes into
– A batch of vegetables is boiled for hours and the stock extracted.
A second batch of vegetables is then pureed to create the viscosity found in the curry. This is followed by adding caramelised
onions to enhance sweetness and flavour, and finally, herbs and spices are added for that authentic Japanese curry taste.
The process to create each batch of
is created from scratch, with most of the ingredients required to be flown in
from Japan. As such, you won’t find anything artificial in this intricate blend of a variety of vegetables. It is a tailor-made
recipe that has proven to be a sure-fire winner!
